Cowboy Vest Dress Up Craft

Complete your cowboy dress up outfit with the Wild West Cowboy Vest.  Make your own vest from a large paper grocery bag, markers, and scissors.  This fun craft can be customized for any theme or any child.  A perfect craft for any wild west-themed birthday party, VBS, or library story time!

What you'll need:

  • Large paper grocery bag
  • Scissors
  • Markers or crayons
How to make your Cowboy Vest Dress Up Craft
  1. Open the grocery bag.  Using scissors, cut up the middle of one side.  Cut a hole in the bottom of the bag to fit your child’s head through.  Carefully cut one hole on either side of the grocery bag to fit your child’s arms through.  (see photos)
  2. Using scissors, cut the bottom of the bag to create fringe.  (see photos)
  3. Decorate the bag with markers or crayons.  You may wish to write your name on the vest or decorate it with a desert-like or cowboy motif (cactus, Native American drawings, horseshoe, etc.).  (see photos)
  4. Your vest is ready to wear.  Grab your boots and ride off into the desert!
