Young children will enjoy making a set of antlers with the Moose Dress Up Headband.  Make your own headband from materials found around the house including a large grocery bag, stapler, glue, markers, and brown cardstock. Once complete, let your little one run free pretending to be a moose.  If it is near Christmas time, this craft is perfect for pretending to be a reindeer too!

What you'll need:

  • Large grocery bag
  • Markers
  • Stapler
  • Scissors
  • Glue
How to make your Handprint Moose Headband
  1. Using scissors, cut open the large grocery bag.  Cut a long three inch wide strip from the grocery bag.  Make sure that it is long enough to wrap around your child’s head.  (see photos)
  2. Using a marker, trace your child’s hand onto the grocery bag twice and cut out.  (see photos)
  3. If desired, allow your child to decorate the hands and strip of paper.  When finished decorating, staple the hands to either side of the strip of paper.  Wrap the paper in a circle and staple, making sure that it fits around your child’s head.  (see photos)
  4. Your antlers are ready to wear.  Pretend to be a moose!  For added fun, make this craft near the holidays and pretend to be a reindeer.  Paint your nose red, wear brown clothing, and eat some crunchy carrots to complete the outfit!
