International Children’s Book Day Craft

What you'll need:

• Glue
• Scissors
• Small pieces of colored felt (three colors- must include yellow)
• 2 wiggly eyes
• Ribbon (12 inches long)
• 1 button

1. Using scissors, cut a small tulip shape from one of the pieces of colored felt (not the yellow felt) for the owl’s body.  Cut two small leaf shapes from the other piece of colored felt for the owl’s wings.  Cut a small diamond shape from the yellow felt for the owl’s beak.  (see photos)
2. Glue the two wings to either side of the owl.  Glue the wiggly eyes and the beak above the wings.  Allow the glue to dry.  (see photos)
3. Glue the ribbon to the back bottom of the owl.  Glue the button to the other end of the ribbon.  Allow the glue to dry.  (see photos)
4. Your bookmark is complete!  Use it to mark your place when reading a story or give to a friend to celebrate International Children’s Book Day!  (see photos)
