National Aviation Day Airplane Craft

What you'll need:

• Glue
• Scissors
• Markers
• Colored cardstock
• Cardboard
• Aluminum foil
• 1 toilet paper tube

1. Using scissors, cut out a piece of aluminum foil that is a little longer than the width of the toilet paper tube.  Wrap it around the toilet paper tube, tucking the edges inside the tube so that it is secure.  Glue the edge.  Allow the glue to dry.  (see photos)
2. Cut out a long, thin oval from a piece of cardstock for the wings.  Cut out a small piece of foil and wrap it around the wings.  Glue the foil into place.  Glue the wings to the top of the airplane.  Allow the glue to dry.  (see photos)
3. Cut a long strip of cardboard.  Cut a piece of foil and wrap it around the piece of cardboard.  Glue it into place.  Allow the glue to dry.  Fold the piece of cardboard in half, then fold each of the halves in half so that the ends are touching the middle crease.  Open it up so that it forms a “T”.  Glue it on the back top of your airplane.  Allow the glue to dry.  (see photos)
4. Using scissors, cut six small squares from colored cardstock for the windows of the airplane.  Glue three windows to either side of the airplane.  Allow the glue to dry.  (see photos)
5. Using bits of cardstock or markers, decorate your airplane.  If using bits of cardstock, glue to the airplane and allow the glue to dry.  (see photos)
6. Your airplane is complete!  For added fun, create a runway so that your plane can take off and land!
