National Cow Appreciation Day Craft

Cows provide use with cheese and milk which are used in many snack crackers, cookies, and chips, which is the perfect reason to celebrate National Cow Appreciation Day on July 8th!  Keep your snacks fresh with the National Cow Appreciation Day Cow Clip Craft.  Make your own adorable cow clip from colored cardstock, wiggly eyes, a button, clothespin, scissors, markers, and glue.  Afterwards, put it on your favorite snack, and be prepared to smile every time you reach for your snack!

What you'll need:

  • Glue
  • Scissors
  • Markers
  • White, pink, and black cardstock
  • 1 clothespin
  • 1 pink button
  • 2 small wiggly eyes
  • Yarn (3 inches)
How to make your National Cow Appreciation Day Craft
  1. Using scissors, cut a small circle from the white cardstock for the cow’s head.  Cut two small ovals from the pink cardstock.  Glue to the sides of the white cardstock circle for the cow’s ears.  (see photos)
  2. Cut two small horns from the black cardstock and glue to top of the cow’s head.  Allow the glue to dry.  (see photos)
  3. Glue the wiggly eyes to the cardstock circle.  Glue the pink button below the wiggly eyes for the cow’s nose.  Using a marker, draw a smile on the button for the cow’s mouth.  Allow the glue to dry.  (see photos)
  4. Glue the head to the top front of the clothespin.  Allow the glue to dry.  (see photos)
  5. Cut a larger circle from the white cardstock and draw black spots on it for the cow’s body.  Cut two small strips of white cardstock for the cow’s legs and color the bottoms with black marker for the cow’s hooves.  (see photos)
  6. Glue the legs to the bottom of the cow’s body.  Glue the cow’s body, with the spots facing forward to the back of the clothespin.  Glue the yarn to the back for the cow’s tail.  Allow the glue to dry.  (see photos)
  7. Your clip is complete!  Find your favorite snack or a snack with cheese or milk listed in the ingredients and use your new cow clip to keep the snack fresh!  (see photos)
