Jumpy Frog Craft

This cute jumpy frog craft was an instant hit in our house. This is a simple paper craft, but there is something about the bendy arms and legs that pulled our kids in. Our two year old picked up her finished frog and bounced him along the table saying he was dancing in the pond! After making this frog craft, we sat and read Down by the Cool of the Pool and the girls loved acting out the story with their own jumping frogs!

What you'll need:

  • Jumpy Frog Template
  • Green, red, and white construction paper
  • Googly eyes (optional)
  • Marker or Crayon
  • Scissors
  • Glue stick
  • Tape
How to make your jumpy frog craft:
  1. Print our template and cut out the pieces.
  2. Trace the semicircle mouth onto red construction paper and the two eye shapes onto white paper. The remaining pieces should all be traced onto green construction paper. Cut all of the pieces out.
  3. In addition to the above pieces, cut four strips of green paper that are approximately one inch wide by 5 inches long. These will be the frog's arms and legs.
  4. Then cut a small thin rectangular strip of paper out of red construction paper. Wrap this piece around a crayon or marker to make it curl a bit. This will be the frog's tongue.
  5. Glue the frog's oval head onto his body. Add on his mouth and glue his tongue to it.
  6. Glue on the white eye pieces and then either draw on black circles for eyes or attach googly eyes.
  7. Attach the arms and legs to the frog's body. We used tape for this because glue just wasn't fast enough!
  8. Glue or tape on your frog's feet/hands.
  9. Bounce!
