This tissue paper shamrock craft is a fantastic preschool St. Patrick's Day craft. Made using our provided shamrock template, small squares of tissue paper and contact paper (no glue in this project!), even very young children can make this "stained glass" shamrock craft. The end result is a fantastic homemade St. Patrick's Day craft and decoration for kids.

What you'll need:

  • Black construction paper
  • Scissors
  • Contact paper
  • Shamrock Template
  • Green tissue paper (two shades of green provides a nice effect)
How to make your Tissue Paper Shamrock Craft
  1. Print out our Shamrock Template. Cut out the template and trace it onto black construction paper. Cut out the shamrock. Then cut out the middle of the template, leaving a thin (1/4-1/2") rim of black paper around the outside. **This is pretty challenging scissor work and should be left to an adult unless the child is old enough to attempt this.
  2. Peel the paper backing off of a piece of contact paper and stick your outline to it.
  3. Cut strips of the green tissue paper that are 1" wide. Then cut the strips into 1" squares.
  4. Place the squares of tissue paper onto the contact paper so that they overlap.
  5. Place a second piece of contact paper over the finished project and trim the edges off.
  6. Hang on the window and enjoy.
