Liven up the This Little Piggy Nursery Rhyme by making adorable pigs out of your own handprint in the This Little Piggy Nursery Rhyme Craft.  Make your own handprint pigs from colored cardstock, pipe cleaners, wiggly eyes, glue, and markers.  Then, gather your friends and sing the nursery rhyme.  This craft is also suitable for any other song, story, or lesson about pigs!

What you'll need:

How to make your This Little Piggy Nursery Rhyme Craft
  1. Have an adult help you trace one of your hands with a pencil onto the light pink cardstock.  Cut out the shape.  (see photos)
  2. Using scissors, carefully cut five small round noses out of the dark pink cardstock.  Carefully cut ten small triangle ears out of the dark pink cardstock.  Glue the noses and ears to each of the fingers and thumb on the cardstock handprint.  Allow the glue to dry.  (see photos)
  3. Glue the wiggly eyes to each of the pig’s faces.  Allow the glue to dry.  (see photos)
  4. Using markers, draw nostrils on each of the pigs’ noses and draw a smile on each of the pigs’ faces.  (see photos)
  5. Wrap the pipe cleaner around the pencil.  Slide the pipe cleaner off of the pencil and cut it into five pieces for the pigs’ tails.  Glue one tail to the back of each of the pigs.  Allow the glue to dry.  (see photos)
  6. Print the This Little Piggy Nursery Rhyme Lyrics onto colored cardstock.  Glue to the handprint if desired.  Allow the glue to dry.  (see photos)
  7. Use your craft to help you sing This Little Piggy.  Point to each of the different pigs as you sing the nursery rhyme!
