Crafts are fun to make and even better when you can use recycled materials! Children use colorful, used bottle caps to make the fish bodies. They glue on foam triangles for the tails and green tissue paper for the seaweed. After dipping the end of a marker in white paint, you can make bubbles near each fish. Drawing a smile and gluing a google eye onto each fish completes your project!

What you'll need:

  • Blue construction paper
  • Green tissue paper
  • Blue foam cut into triangles
  • White paint
  • Marker to dip into paint
  • Blue marker
  • Colorful bottle caps
  • Glue
  • Small, colorful google eyes
  • Small paper ocean creatures or stickers (optional)
How to make your bottle cap fish craft:
  1. Scrunch three pieces of green tissue paper to resemble seaweed and glue onto the bottom of the blue paper.
  2. Glue the foam triangles across the top of the blue paper as shown.
  3. Glue a bottle cap to the front of each piece of foam.
  4. Glue a google eye onto each bottle cap.
  5. Dip the end of the marker into white paper and press down onto paper near each fish.
  6. Use the blue marker to draw a smile on each bottle cap fish.
  7. If you have small paper ocean creatures or stickers, you may add them to your scene.
