Craft the Matchbox Fire Safety Tips Craft to teach your toddler or preschooler important facts about fire safety. This cute craft resembles matches, but includes little facts to make your children fire savvy. Once complete, children will have a handy carrying box for their important fire safety tips!

What you'll need:

How to make your matchbox fire safety tips craft:
  1. Print the Matchbox Fire Safety Tips Craft template onto white computer paper. (see photos)
  2. Cut the fire safety tips out into strips, making sure that the strips are no wider than the Q-tips. Set aside for now. (see photos)
  3. Cut off one end of each of the Q-tips. Dip the other end into the red paint. Allow to dry. (see photos)
  4. Squirt some yellow paint onto the paper plate and paint the Q-tips yellow. Allow them to dry (see photos).
  5. Tape one end of a fire safety tip to the Q-tip. Roll the rest of the fact around the Q-tip and hold it for a few seconds. Let go. When you let go, the paper will loosen, but it will still remain wrapped around the Q-tip. Repeat with the remaining Q-tips. (see photos)
  6. Decorate the small box with markers. (see photos)
  7. Your safety matches are ready for use! Store them in the small box and pull them out to teach others about fire safety!
