Button Flower Craft

This pretty button flower craft is fun to make and a great fine motor activity. While gluing buttons into the shape of flowers, you can also work on counting, naming colors and creating patterns. This project only requires a few materials and does not take much time. When finished, you have a lovely flower scene.

What you'll need:

  • Green construction paper
  • Blue construction paper
  • Glue
  • Scissors
  • Colorful buttons in various sizes
  • Green duct tape
How to make your button flowers craft:
  • Cut four thin rectangular strips from duct tape and tape to blue paper to create the flower stems.
  • Cut a strip of green paper to cover about one quarter of the blue paper. Make many cuts on one side of this paper to create blades of grass. Glue this to the bottom of the blue paper, covering the bottom of the stems.
  • Glue one large button to the top of each stem.
  • Glue little buttons around each large button. You can ask children to create patterns, match all of the same color or count buttons.
  • Glue some yellow buttons in the shape of the sun on the top of the blue paper.
