We were looking for a very simple craft to work into our discussion at home about Native Americans and this triangle teepee craft was perfect to show an element of the culture that our young daughter could understand. As a bonus, this craft also lent itself towards easily being a shape craft (all triangles), and size discrimination lesson (big versus little), a very simple scissor skills craft and a fun letter T craft as well. This teepee is a wonderful craft for the young preschooler set and a great addition to your group of Thanksgiving crafts for kids.

What you'll need:

  • Construction paper (brown, red, orange, yellow)
  • Child friendly scissors
  • Pen or marker
  • Glue stick
How to make your triangle teepee craft
  • Cut a large triangle out of brown construction paper.
  • Draw a line in the middle of the craft where the opening of the teepee would be. Have your child cut along this line.
  • Cut triangles out of the other shapes and have your child use a glue stick to stick them to the larger triangle.
