Lately our daughter has been very into fantasy creatures and unicorns are very high on her list of favorites. She asked to make her very own and this unicorn craft was created. This is a great kids craft to watch your child's creativity at work as there is no right or wrong way to make a unicorn. Ours even needed wings! This cute craft would also work great as a letter craft to make during the letter "Uu" week or as a My Little Pony craft. We made this craft with our nieces as well as our daughter and they all had a blast. This would work great as a party activity as well.

What you'll need:

  • Craft foam
  • Craft gems
  • Glitter foam, glitter paint, etc.
  • Yarn
  • Markers
  • Glue
  • Tape (if the add-ons are too heavy!)
  • Unicorn template
How to make your unicorn craft:
  1. Print our unicorn template and cut it out. Trace it onto a piece of craft foam and cut that out. We used craft foam instead of a paper so it would stand up to the weight of the decorations.
  2. Our unicorn template does not have a horn on it because the girls wanted to make their own horns out of some glittery craft foam that I have. Make a horn however your child would like and add it onto the head of the horse.
  3. Decorate however you would like. We used markers and craft gems (available at any craft store) for most of our decorations. The girls also used the gold craft foam to add wings (a My Little Pony influence I believe).
  4. Glue on yarn to make the tail and the mane of the unicorns. We had some leftover rainbow yarn on hand and it worked great.
