Fire Department Pop-Up Thank You Card

Make a fun pop-up card to thank the volunteers and fire fighters with the Fire Department Thank You Pop-Up Card Craft. Using colored cardstock, markers, glue, and scissors, this simple craft allows children of all ages to express their gratitude. Once complete, schedule a visit to your local fire department and check out the shiny red engines while you are there!

What you'll need:

  • 1 piece of colored cardstock
  • 1 small piece of yellow cardstock
  • Glue
  • Scissors
  • Markers
How to make your thank you fire department card craft:
  1. Fold a piece of cardstock in half. Cut along the folded line. Set one half of the cardstock aside for now. (see photos)
  2. Fold the other piece of cardstock in half again. Fold the top left corner down to form a triangle. (see photos)
  3. Open the card back up and pull the triangle forward. Shut the card again so that the triangle is tucked inside. This will be your pop-up. (see photos)
  4. Close the card again and place glue along the edges on both the front and back of the card. Fold the other piece of cardstock in half and place it on top of the glue so that all of the corners match up. Allow the glue to dry. (see photos).
  5. On the front of the card use markers to write “Thank You…” Decorate the card with a fire truck or other fire fighter themed things. (see photo)
  6. On the piece of yellow cardstock, draw a badge and cut out. Write “#1 Firefighter” or “#1 Fire Department” on it. Fold the badge in half. Glue the badge to the pop-up triangle making sure the fold in the badge lines up with the fold in the triangle. Allow the glue to dry. (see photos)
  7. Decorate the inside of the card with markers and write “…For Always Saving the Day!” (see photos)
  8. Your card is now complete and ready for you to deliver to your local fire department!
