Cheerleader Dress Up Craft

Spice up the next football game or parade with the Dressed to Cheer Dress Up Craft.  Coordinate the colored cardstock to match your favorite local or national team.  Make your own set of pom-poms and megaphone from colored cardstock, cardboard, scissors, tissue paper or ribbon, and a stapler.

What you'll need:

  • Colored tissue paper or ribbon
  • Markers or crayons
  • Scissors
  • Tape
  • Colored cardstock
  • Cardboard
  • Stapler
How to make your Cheerleader Dress Up Craft
  1. For the pom-poms: Using scissors, carefully cut to thin, rectangular bands from the cardboard.  (see photos)
  2. Cut the colored tissue paper into strips or cut the ribbon into eight inch pieces.  Stack the tissue paper or ribbon and staple.  (see photos)
  3. Fold the cardboard pieces in half and place the stack of tissue paper or ribbon inside.  (see photos)
  4. Close and staple into place so that the tissue paper or ribbon is secure.  Decorate the cardboard and tissue paper, if desired.  (see photos)
  5. For the megaphone: Decorate a piece of colored cardstock with markers.  (see photos)
  6. Take the piece of colored cardstock and roll it up so that one opening is smaller than the other.  Tape the cardstock in place.   (see photos)
  7. Using scissors, carefully, trim away the excess so that it forms a cone shape.  (see photos)
  8. Your megaphone and pom-poms are ready for some cheering.  Get ready to root for your favorite team!
