Mother's Day Purse Card Craft

Is mom or grandma a purse fan, or do you want a unique card to say ?I love you' with this Mother's day? Try our purse card craft! Our template makes this craft simple to put together. It is a great Mother's day card for your child to personalize just for their mom. Use glitter, special paint, sequins or buttons to make it even more fun! We used a simple "Happy Mother's Day" saying in our card for Grandma, but you could also use "You always have everything I need" to make the purse theme even cuter.

What you'll need:

  • Purse Template 1  Purse Template 2
  • Construction paper
  • Paint, sequins, glitter, etc. to decorate the card
  • A button
  • Glue
  • Scissors
  • Scotch tape
  • Markers or crayons
How to make your Mother's Day Purse Card:
  1. Print our template and cut out the pieces. Trace the pieces onto construction paper and cut them out.
  2. If you choose not to use colored construction paper, paint your pieces or decorate however you would like. We used a new product for us on this craft - a paint with glitter and shiny "bits and pieces" in it. It worked well and gave the craft a cute shimmer and sparkle without the mess of glitter. It's a fun new material to try out!
  3. Once the paint or glue from the decorations is dry, fold the template to create the purse look for your card.
  4. Tape the handle on to the back of the purse.
  5. Write your message to mom on the inside of the purse.
  6. Glue a button onto the front of the card to hold the purse flap shut. Make sure you only glue the bottom of the button to the card so that you can tuck the flap behind the button to keep the card shut.
