Handprint Hermit Crab Craft

Make this adorable hermit crab craft using a few simple materials like paper plates, tissue paper and glue. Kids will have a great time gluing the tissue paper on the paper plate and will love how beautiful it turns out. And their hand print as part of the hermit crab will surely add that special personal touch that will make each hermit one different.

What you'll need:

  • Paper plate
  • White paper
  • Pipe cleaner
  • Scissors
  • Googley eyes
  • Red paint
  • Tissue paper
  • Glue
  • Marker
  • Tape
How to make your handprint hermit crab craft:
  • Paint your child's hand red and then press it down on a white piece of paper to make a hand print.
  • When paint has dried cut the hand print out.
  • Next cut a small chunk from the side of the paper plate. With a black marker draw a swirl on the paper plate to make it look like a shell. Then start gluing on your tissue paper.
  • Lastly glue the hand print onto the paper plate on the side where you cut. Add the pipe cleaners and eyes and you have a very cute hermit crab!
