We wanted to mix things up a bit with this Thanksgiving turkey craft, so we made a turkey with fun feathers and dancing legs! This is a simple paper craft for Thanksgiving and one that our preschooler really enjoyed. This craft was also great in getting our daughter some practice in following directions, because it's slightly more than a simple glue and stick craft. This time the feathers need stuck on in a certain way and the legs need folded a certain way. The end result is a funny turkey that is sure to make everyone smile this holiday.

What you'll need:

How to make your Dancing Turkey Craft:
  1. Print our template and cut out the pieces. Trace the pieces onto brown construction paper and cut them out.
  2. Cut 1 inch thick strips of construction paper from red, orange and yellow construction paper. These will be your feathers.
  3. Cut out orange triangles for the feet and beak, and a red teardrop shape for the waddle.
  4. Glue a strip of colored construction paper to the front and back of the brown circle to make a feather (see the picture for an example). Add as many feathers as you would like.
  5. Glue on the body and the wings.
  6. Glue on the eyes, beak and waddle.
  7. Cut two long strips of orange construction paper. Fold the strips accordion style and glue them to the back of the turkey's body. Glue an orange triangle onto the bottle of each dancing leg to finish your craft.
