Tiny Trendy Wooden Dolls

What you'll need:

• Glue
• Scissors
• Fine-Tipped Markers
• Wooden clothespins with rounded heads
• Different colored craft floss (found in the cross stitch aisle)
• Pipe cleaner

1. Using scissors, cut a three inch piece off of the pipe cleaner and bend the ends to form hands.  Glue the center of the pipe cleaner to the middle back of the clothespin for the arms.  (see photos)
2. Decide on what type of outfit you want your doll to wear.  If you want a shirt and skirt or pants, choose two colors of floss.  If you want a dress, choose one color.  Beginning with the shirt or dress color, glue the end of the floss to the top of the clothespin, directly below the rounded head.  Continue wrapping the floss until you reach the desired length shirt or dress.  Then, trim the end and glue into place.  Allow the glue to dry.  If you want a skirt, take the second color and continue wrapping where you left off with the shirt.  When you reach the desired length, trim the end and glue into place.  For pants, wrap the floss around each clothespin leg individually, cut the ends and glue into place.  Allow the glue to dry.  (see photos)
3. Using markers, give your doll a face and shoes.  (see photos)
4. Using craft floss, cut small pieces to use for the dolls hair.  Glue to the top of the clothespin and allow the glue to dry.  (see photos)
5. Your dolls are now complete!  Have a fashion show to show off your new outfits.  Other ideas to make your party glamorous include allowing the girls to decorate jewelry boxes or hand mirrors, wrapping the girls hair in craft floss, or gathering a trunk full of old dresses and having the girls put on a fashion show or incorporating it into a relay race to see which team can come up with the most glamorous outfit the fastest!
