This year we made a few different types of valentine's with our daughter to give to family and friends. This heart stamp card definitely caught her attention more than the simple cut and paste variety. We didn't have heart shaped stamps in the house, but I have a ton of heart shaped cookie cutters so they became the tool of choice. Our daughter loved using a common object (cookie cutter) in a new way (dunked in paint!) to create this fun homemade Valentine's Day card!

What you'll need:

  • White construction paper
  • Plastic heart cookie cutter
  • Red paint
  • Paper plate
  • Markers or crayons
How to make your Heart Flower Craft
  • Squeeze some red paint onto the paper plate and spread it around.
  • Dip the cookie cutter into the paint so the edges are evenly covered and then press the cutter onto the white construction paper. **Tip: we found using the "wrong end" (the edge you would typically hold) of the cookie cutters created a better image.
  • When the paint dries, use your crayons or markers to add a special saying or more decoration.
