High Flying Kite Birthday Card

Design a card that will make anyone happy to celebrate their birthday with the High Flying Kite Birthday Card.  Make your own card from colored cardstock, glue, scissors, markers, string, and felt.  Afterwards, give to a special someone with a thoughtful gift!

What you'll need:

  • Glue
  • Scissors
  • 1 piece of colored cardstock
  • Markers
  • String (6 inches long)
  • Small piece of colored felt
How to make your High Flying Kite Birthday Card
  1. Fold the piece of cardstock in half to form your card.  (see photos)
  2. Using scissors, cut a small diamond shape from the colored felt.  Glue to the top center of the card for the kite.  Glue the string directly below it in an “S” shape for the string of the kite.  Allow the glue to dry.  (see photos)
  3. Using markers, decorate the card.  You may wish to add clouds and a sun to show the kite is flying in the sky.  You can also draw a person holding the kite or draw decorations along the kite string.  (see photos)
  4. Using a marker, write “Hope you have a high flying birthday!”  (see photos)
  5. Your card is complete!  Pick out an extra special gift and give this card to a friend for his or her birthday!  (see photos)
