Treasure Chest Valentine Craft

Know someone who is a real treasure? Make this fun treasure chest valentine craft to show them how you feel. A simple paper treasure chest, made using our provided template, some adhesive gems and a few crayons are all you need to make this fun Valentine's Day craft.

What you'll need:

  • Treasure Chest Template
  • Crayons
  • Construction paper
  • Sticky gems, sparkly paper, etc.
  • Heart sticker or craft foam
  • Glue
  • Scissors
How to make your Treasure Chest Valentine
  1. Print the treasure chest template and cut it out. Trace it onto brown construction paper and cut out the chest. Fold the bottom piece up and the top piece down to create a chest that opens like a card.
  2. While the chest is closed, use a brown crayon and outline the edges. Then draw a few lines across the chest to make it look like wood.
  3. Use a crayon to write the name of your intended valentine on the lid of the chest.
  4. Open the chest and write the phrase "You're a treasure!" on the inside of the lid and sign your name at the bottom.
  5. Decorate the inside of the chest with stick on gems, sparkly craft foam cut to look like coins, glitter glue - anything shiny!
  6. Once the glue holding the gems is dry, fold the chest back up so it is shut. Use a heart sticker or a piece of sticky-back craft foam cut in the shape of a heart to seal the chest shut.
  7. Give to your favorite valentine!
