Valentine Puppy Craft

To make this project, children receive five hearts of various sizes. They can discuss the sizes of the hearts and which two are the same size. After gluing them together, they add a cotton ball, bows, sequins, eyes and a face. This is a fine motor skill activity, as children will do much tracing, cutting and gluing when making this craft.

What you'll need:

  • Template of hearts
  • Red construction paper
  • Blue construction paper
  • Glue
  • Scissors
  • Heart shaped sequins
  • Two small pink bows
  • Brown marker
  • Cotton ball
How to make your Valentine Puppy Craft
  1. Using the template, trace five hearts onto red paper and cut out. Make two of the # 3 heart.
  2. Glue the heart # 1 upside down on the blue paper to make the body and heart # 2 on the top of the large heart to make a face as shown.
  3. Glue the both hearts # 3 onto the medium heart to create ears and the heart # 4 to the bottom to create a tail.
  4. Glue bows on ears and eyes on face.
  5. Draw a simple nose and mouth under the eyes using the marker.
  6. Glue the cotton ball on the tail.
  7. Glue sequins all over the body.
