This cereal snow picture craft is a fun way to help your child create their own snowflakes and then use them to create a snowy day picture. This is a great winter craft for kids as it uses an everyday material (cereal) in a whole new way and it uses plenty of glue, paint and glitter. Our preschool age daughter really enjoyed making this craft, and if you prepare the "snowflakes" ahead of time, even a toddler would be able to make this fun snow craft.

What you'll need:

  • Honeycomb shaped cereal (the generic works well here)
  • White paint
  • Silver glitter
  • White glue
  • Painter's tape or masking tape
  • Paint brush
How to make your Snow Craft
  1. Cover your work surface with newspaper. Make giant tape donuts and stick them to the newspaper. Stick down 25-30 pieces of cereal on the tape. This method is the easiest we've found to allow younger kids to paint small items effectively.
  2. Paint the cereal white. This doesn't have to be perfect.
  3. While the paint is still wet, sprinkle some glitter onto the pieces. Let dry.
  4. Glue the pieces to a blue piece of construction paper to create a snow storm.
