Abe Lincoln is one of our famous former presidents and this popsicle stick log cabin craft is perfect to make in February when celebrating President's Day. Children glue popsicle and craft sticks to a piece of construction paper to make the cabin. The rest of the scene is made from crayons and construction paper. This craft make a lovely President’s day decoration.

What you'll need:

  • Five craft sticks
  • Two popsicle sticks
  • Blue construction paper
  • Black construction paper
  • Glue
  • Scissors
  • White crayon
  • Green crayon
  • Brown crayon
  • Black marker
  • Pink marker
  • Penny
How to make this log cabin craft
  1. Glue five craft sticks side by side to the bottom right side of the blue paper.
  2. Glue the two popsicle sticks to the paper to form a roof and glue the penny in the house.
  3. With the brown and green crayons, draw a tree on the left side of the paper.
  4. Cut two small rectangular strips from the black paper and glue them in a lower case T form between the tree and the cabin.
  5. Cut a small circle from the white paper and use the markers to make a face. Glue this face on the top of the T.
  6. Cut another rectangular strip from the black paper and glue on the paper to make the other leg. Cut out a black hat and glue on the head.
  7. Cut two small windows, a door and chimney and glue on to the log cabin. Use the white crayon to add details to the door and windows.
  8. Use the white crayon to draw some smoke coming out of the chimney on the top of the blue paper.
