Children will have a blast making their own sheep in the Psalms 23 Handprint Sheep Craft. Made from a traced handprint, white and black cardstock, a pink pom-pom, wiggly eyes, cotton balls, and glue, this fun animal is sure to get kids excited about learning Psalms 23. For additional fun, stick a magnet on the back or glue a ribbon to it so that it can hang!

What you'll need:

  • Large piece of white cardstock
  • Small piece of black cardstock
  • Glue
  • Scissors
  • Pencil
  • 2 wiggly eyes
  • 1 pink pom-pom
  • Cotton balls
  • Black marker
  • White crayon
How to make your sheep
  • Using the pencil, trace your hand onto the piece of white cardstock and cut out. (see photos)
  • With the black marker, color the bottoms of each of the fingers to form the sheep's legs. (see photos)
  • Glue cotton balls to the palm of the cardstock. Allow the glue to dry. (see photos)
  • Cut a small oval shape out of the black cardstock. Glue the wiggly eyes to the center of the oval and glue the pom-pom nose below it. Cut small black ears from the black cardstock and glue to the top of the sheep. Glue the head to the front of the hand so that it covers up the thumb. Allow the glue to dry. (see photos)
  • Using the white crayon, write Psalms 23 on the sheep's legs. (see photos)
  • Your sheep is now complete. Read Psalms 23 aloud and talk about how God is always with you. Stick a magnet or ribbon to the back of your sheep and hang it in a place where you will remember it or simply place it on a dresser or table in your room!
