What child can't resist ice cream? The Lickety-Split Numbers craft is sure to catch the attention of any child struggling to learn numbers one through ten. With a hands-on approach, children will be able to manipulate ice cream scoops into the correct order. Once children have mastered this, they will want some real ice cream!

What you'll need:

  • 1 piece of brown cardstock
  • 2 pieces of yellow cardstock (11 and 1/2 inches long)
  • Scraps of colored cardstock
  • 1 large Ziploc bag
  • Tacky glue
  • Markers
  • Scissors
  • Velcro strips
  • Lickety-Split Numbers craft template
How to make your Lickety-Split Numbers craft:
  • Print out the Lickety-Split Numbers craft template on white cardstock. Cut out the ice cream scoops and trace onto scraps of different colored cardstock. Cut out. (see photos).
  • Using the black marker, write numbers 1-10 on the different ice cream scoops. Allow your child to decorate the scoops with crayons, if desired. (see photos)
  • Place a Velcro strip on the back of each of these ice cream scoops. (see photos)
  • Cut out the ice cream cone and trace onto brown cardstock. Cut out and draw lines on it with black marker. (see photos)
  • Take the two pieces of yellow colored cardstock and tape on top of the other one to form one long strip. (see photos)
  • Take the ruler and starting at the top of the ice cream cone, make small dashes every 1 and � inches. Place a piece of Velcro on each of these marks and secure. (see photos)
  • Your ice cream creation is done. Now you are ready to build an ice cream cone to the sky and learn your numbers!
