Children color a groundhog template and glue it to a popsicle stick to create the puppet. To make the ground and sky, they simply glue brown paper to a blue piece of paper. This is a good project to do to reinforce the concepts of up and down as well as learn about Groundhog Day.

What You'll Need

STEP 1
Color groundhog brown and cut out.

STEP 2
Glue popsicle stick behind bottom of groundhog.

STEP 3
Cut the blue piece of paper into a square and the brown paper about half the size of the blue paper, being sure to curve the top so it looks like the ground as shown.

STEP 4
Glue just the sides of the brown paper to the blue paper and insert puppet as shown.
