Flower Power Applique Craft

Boost confidence and brighten a first day of school outfit with the adorable Flower Power Appliqu�! Quick to make, with few materials, elementary-aged children will be clamoring to sew these on every shirt! These also look great on backpacks, tote bag straps, shoes, and headbands.

What you'll need:

  • Masking tape roll
  • Pen
  • Scissors
  • Patterned Fabric
  • Thread
  • Needle
How to make your shoelaces craft:
  • Using the roll of masking tape, trace the outer part of the masking tape onto the back of the patterned fabric with a pen. Cut the circle out. Cut out additional circles for additional flowers. (see photos)
  • Thread your needle and tie a knot at the end. Fold the edge of the circle over and begin stitching around the edge of the circle. (see photos)
  • Pull the thread taut until the fabric ruffles and creates the desired flower shape. Stitch along the bottom of the flower several times in one place to make sure the thread does not come undone. (see photos)
  • Repeat the above steps to create additional flowers and sew them onto your desired surface. (see photos)
