Never lose your place in a book once you have made the Polka Dot Fabric Bookmark! Crafted from pretty fabric and bright cardstock, children will love using this in all their books. This is a great craft for any child reading chapter books and can even be used as an inexpensive teacher gift!

What you'll need:

  • 1 piece of colored cardstock
  • Patterned fabric
  • Large circle hole punch
  • Scissors
  • Hole punch
  • Ribbon
  • Glue
How to make your polka dot fabric bookmark:
  • Take the piece of cardstock and fold it in half. Cut the paper along the crease. Set one piece aside for another use. Fold the other half of cardstock in half and press down along the crease. (see photos)
  • Open the cardstock back up and use both the small and large hole punches to punch holes in one side of the cardstock. (see photos)
  • Cut out small squares of fabric and glue them along the inside panel of the bookmark. Place a thin line of glue along the edge of the bookmark and close it. Allow the glue to dry. Place a heavy book on top to help it dry without opening. (see photos)
  • Once the glue is dry, use the small hole punch to punch a hole in the top of the bookmark. Thread a piece of ribbon through the top and tie a knot to create a tassel. (see photos)
  • Start reading a good book so that you can use your bookmark!
