Crazy Creature Pencil Toppers Craft

Make your pencils stylish and one-of a kind with the Crazy Creature Pencil Toppers. An ideal craft for children of any age, as they head back to school, these fun pencils will make writing more fun and are sure to keep them from getting lost. Make extras so your child can pass them out to his or her friends!

What you'll need:

3 pencils
1 eraser topper
Glue
4 wiggly eyes
1 small piece of colored cardstock
2 colored pipe cleaners
2 small pom-poms
Markers or crayons
Scissors

How to make your pencil toppers:

Place the eraser topper on one of the pencils. Using glue, adhere the wiggly eyes so that they hang slightly over the top of the eraser. Glue one of the small pom-poms underneath the wiggly eyes. Allow the glue to dry before using the pencil. (see photos)
Take one of the pipe cleaners and wrap it around the pencil. Stretch one-third of the pipe cleaner out so that it hangs off of the pencil and creates a type of spring. (see photos)
Using scissors and the small piece of colored cardstock, cut out desired shape. Some suggestions include flowers, hearts, or stars. Decorate the cardstock with markers or crayons. (see photos)
Place a dot of glue on the back of the shape and attach it to the top of the pipe cleaner. Allow the glue to dry before using the pencil. (see photos)
Take the other pipe cleaner and wrap it around the remaining pencil. Slide the pipe cleaner over the pencil and turn to the side so that it looks like it is crawling off of the pencil. (see photos)
Using glue, adhere the other pom-pom to the top of the pip cleaner as a nose. Adhere the wiggly eyes to the top of the pipe cleaner as eyes. Allow the glue to dry before using the pencil. (see photos)
Sharpen those pencils and get writing!
