This pretty butterfly craft uses the outline of your child's hand to create the body of the butterfly. Torn or cut pieces of colored construction paper, googly eyes and sequins complete the finished project. Tearing paper and gluing are excellent fine motor activities that develop writing skills. When complete, your child has a beautiful butterfly!

What you'll need:

  • White construction paper
  • Colored construction paper
  • Marker and glue
  • Google eyes
  • Sequins
How to make your handprint butterfly mosaic craft:
  • Place child's hands together on white paper in a way that the thumbs are next to each other forming the butterfly body and the fingers are close together forming the two wings. Trace the hands in this position.
  • Have child rip or cut colored paper into small pieces and glue to cover butterfly.
  • Add google eyes and draw antennae on head. Add sequence to top of antennae.
