Pom Pom Bird Craft

Spring is the perfect time to teach children about new life! In our preschool class, we discuss how many birds fly back North in the spring and how baby birds are born at this time of year. This adorable bird craft is fun to make in conjunction with this theme. Children glue shredded paper onto a paper plate to create a nest and googly eyes and foam pieces onto pom poms to make baby birds.

What you'll need:

  • Shredded brown paper
  • Paper plate
  • Brown paint
  • Paintbrush
  • Glue
  • Two pom poms
  • Four small goggly eyes
  • Blue foam
  • Yellow foam
  • Scissors
How to make your pom pom bird craft:
  • Paint paper plate brown.
  • When paint is dry, glue shredded paper onto plate to create a nest.
  • Glue google eyes onto both pom poms.
  • Cut small triangles from foam to create beaks and wings and glue onto pom poms.
  • Glue pom poms in nest.
