This cardinal craft is a great project to do in the winter. In our preschool class, we discuss how most birds migrate to the south during the winter months. In the North, we don’t get to see many birds in the winter so spying a bright red cardinal is always a treat!

What you'll need:

How to make your cardinal craft:
  • Trace all of the cardinal pieces from the template onto the red cardstock and cut out.
  • With the marker, color the bottom of each leg and each foot black.
  • Glue these legs behind the bottom of the cardinal's body.
  • Glue a few red feathers to the wing and glue the wing to the center of the body.
  • Glue the tail behind the body as shown.
  • Cut a small break from the yellow paper and glue on the face as shown. Glue the google eye near the beak.
