Handprint Sun Craft

This handprint craft for kids is a fun way to create a sun for summer! Simply dip your child's hand in yellow paint and make a ring of handprints on a paper plate. Their fingers become the sun's rays! Add a simple face to this cute summer craft and hang it on a window to decorate your room for summer. Even very young children can do this craft with a little help and you'll have a cute summer craft that captures your child's handprints for years to come.

What you'll need:

Paper plate
Yellow paint
Black marker or crayon
Paint brush

How to make your handprint sun craft:

Paint your child's hand yellow. We find that when doing handprint crafts that they turn out better if you put the paint on with a brush rather than dipping the child's hand in the paint.
Press your child's hand onto the paper plate so that their palm is in the center of the plate with their fingers reaching to the outer edge.
Repeat this process until you have a ring of finger prints all around the plate. Make sure to overlap the palms!
Use the marker or crayon to draw on the sun's face. You could even add sunglasses!
