Print our watermelon template out and assemble the pieces to create your own paper watermelon craft. This simple paper craft is fun for even young children. We used painted sunflower seeds for the watermelon seeds to complete the craft, but you could also use your child's fingerprints or even just dots made with a black marker. This cute summer craft would make a wonderful invitation to a summer picnic!

What you'll need:

How to make your watermelon craft:
  • Paint a handful of unsalted sunflower seeds black. This is easiest for young children if you make a tape "donut" and stick it to a piece of newspaper. Then stick the seeds to be painted onto the tape donut. It's much less frustrating for them if the seeds don't go sliding and if they don't have to cover their hands in paint trying to get the seeds covered
  • Print our template and cut the pieces out. Trace the pieces onto construction paper and cut them out.
  • Once the seeds are dry, glue them to the watermelon.
