Handprint Fish Craft

When making this cute fish, children paint the entire bottom half of their palm, a small strip of the middle of their hand and then just the top part of their fingers. After pressing their hand on a piece of paper, they color black stripes next to each orange section. Add a google eye and draw a smile to complete this craft!

What you'll need:

  • White paper
  • Blue construction paper
  • Orange paint
  • Paintbrush
  • Black marker
  • Google eye
  • Glue
  • Scissors
  • Green tissue paper
  • Quart size plastic bag
How to make your handprint fish craft:
  1. Paint bottom half of palm and top of four fingers orange as well as as top on the top of the palm as shown.
  2. Press hand onto white paper.
  3. Crunch some green tissue paper into two seaweed formations and glue onto the bottom of the blue paper.
  4. When the orange paint has dried, draw black stripes next to each orange section, as shown.
  5. Cut the fish out of the white paper and glue over the seaweed.
  6. Glue a google eye on the front of the fish.
  7. Draw a mouth under the eye.
  8. Place the craft in a plastic bag so it appears the fish is in water!
