There was a summer growing up where my friends and I created a "Bug Squad". We spent hours exploring the back yard, catching every insect we could see. Butterflies were our favorite, but we quickly broke the store bought net we had. So our moms came up with this simpler, but amazingly effective, option. These homemade butterfly nets work very well and if they break, just pop on a new bag!

What you'll need:

  • Plastic grocery bag
  • Metal hanger
  • Masking tape
How to make your Butterfly Net Craft:
  • Bend the hanger so that it's more circular.
  • Wrap the edges of the plastic bag around the hanger and tape as you go. You don't need to tape every piece of the bag, but enough of it so that the butterflies won't get stuck anywhere!
